Alexander was able to complete his Eagle service project today. Before his project could even get started he attended our local community board meeting to get their approval. He spent the last 2 weeks approaching commercial retailers for donations. He went to UPS who donated copies of flyers, Post Net who also donated copies of flyers. Walmart, who donated recyclable bags, an Oil company who donated water, and H.E.B. Who donated plastic grocery sacks. The home finder was very willing to donate maps of the community to keep us organized. Alexander was definitely out of his comfort zone. We are so proud of him, he did great!
An amazing group of people who donated their time , efforts and Saturday, to go door to door collecting food, then sorting it. These marvelous people combined, volunteered 102 hours of service today.

Here is the a look at some of the boxes of food. All in all, they collected 37 boxes of food to donate to H.A.A.M.
The Summerwood Residents were very generous. The boxes were bursting full with canned goods. We even had 1 jar of pickled watermelon rind.

It seems like saying "Way to go Zander" just doesn't cut it. We are soooooo proud of him. It is such an amazing accomplishment and he did it so young! I thought about him all day today and am happy to hear it went well. Give him a BIG pat on the back for us!
